My philosophy is that EVERY single home needs to be staged prior to being listed.  Home staging should be just as standard in the home selling process as getting a home inspection or appraisal.

What is staging, and why is it important?
Home Staging involves the process of consulting with a trained, certified home stager who can help a home owner view their house objectively in order to prepare the home to be listed.  Staging requires standard deep cleaning and decluttering, but also addresses home repairs, easy updates, paint colors, furniture placement and strategically placed decorative accessories.  The pictures below illustrate how simple decluttering can open up a room to appear cleaner and larger.

Yes, your home looks clean, is updated with beautiful granite counter tops and gorgeous wood floors, but there are still things you are going to overlook.  Why?  Because even though you are selling your home, you have an emotional attachment to it.

Your emotional attachment can make your house difficult to sell.

Maybe it’s the first home you bought with your spouse, you’ve had children and now you’ve out grown it.  Maybe it is the first home you bought on your own after landing that killer job out of college.  Or, maybe it is the home you’ve lived 40 years in with your husband or wife; the one in which you raised your beautiful family.  Now you are ready to downsize and enjoy the retirement years.

An in-home staging consultation will help you look at your house with a “buyers” eye.  Since only 10% of potential buyers are able to visualize the true potential of a home, a stager can give you recommendations of the right colors to dress your walls in and the correct furniture placement so that buyers understand how each room can be utilized while visualizing their own belongings in the space.

Home Stagers will look at every single detail with “new” eyes.  We can help you to stage your home so that it shows to its absolute best ability.  We also understand that more than likely, you’ll still be living in your home and that the ideal recommendations may not be reasonable.  We are able to work around those situations and still get your home in tip-top show shape!

Above is an example of a very lived in home.  After a staging consultation, the home owners did the recommended work themselves, and got their home ready to show beautifully.  These pictures show how a very long room was broken into very defined areas: an area to watch TV, a workout area and the home office (not pictured).  The “window to nowhere” was filled in and the area decluttered, resulting in an open, spacious-feeling room.

A few simple suggestions given throughout the home by the stager on can make a huge difference on showing a buyer how to utilize confusing space. It’s all about knowing what to keep, and what to pack away.  The results…a perfectly staged home, ready to sell!
